Calming Essential Oil Blend for When Your Mind Won’t Slow Down
There are some days when everything feels like too much, and that is often when a calming essential oil blend can help bring a sense of peace back into your home.
The house may be quiet, the day may be winding down, and yet your mind is still moving from one thing to the next. If you have ever found yourself there, you know how hard it can be to truly rest.
That is exactly what led me to create this particular calming essential oil blend.
One evening, I found myself completely exhausted, but my thoughts would not slow down. Instead of pushing through, I turned on my diffuser, made a cup of tea, and reached for the Peace Be Still room spray I had shared the month before. I took just a few quiet minutes to sit and be still.
It was not anything elaborate, but something began to shift. My thoughts slowed, my body settled, and I felt that overwhelming feeling lift just enough for me to rest.
"Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God." - Philippians 4:6
That moment reminded me that I am not the one holding everything together.
He is.
And that is why I decided to call this blend Held Together.
In this post, I am sharing three simple ways to use this calming essential oil blend: in a diffuser, as a roller, and as part of a simple evening rhythm.
Held Together Calming Essential Oil Blend Diffuser
Add the following oils to your diffuser with water according to your diffuser’s instructions:
3 drops lavender – to help calm the nervous system and quiet racing thoughts
2 drops frankincense – to bring a grounding and steadying effect
3 drops cedarwood – to support emotional balance and create a settling atmosphere
1 drop bergamot – to gently lift the mood without overstimulating
Allow the diffuser to run for 30–60 minutes while you wind down for the evening.
Held Together Calming Essential Oil Blend Roller
For a 10 ml roller bottle:
6 drops lavender
4 drops frankincense
6 drops cedarwood
2 drops bergamot
Fill the remainder of the bottle with fractionated coconut oil and replace the roller top. Gently roll between your hands to mix.
Apply to wrists, the back of the neck, or the bottoms of the feet as part of your evening routine.

⚠️ Safety Notes
- Diffuse in a well-ventilated space.
- Dilute properly before applying to the skin.
- Avoid contact with eyes and sensitive areas.
- Consult a healthcare professional if pregnant, nursing, or using with children.
- Use essential oils responsibly and in moderation.
Creating a Simple Evening Rhythm
Sometimes the most meaningful routines are the simplest ones.
Turning on a diffuser, making a warm cup of tea, and taking a few quiet moments can help signal to your body that it is time to slow down.
If you make the Peace Be Still room spray, this is a perfect time to use. A light mist on your bedding or in the room pairs beautifully with this blend and helps carry that calm into your evening.
These small steps do not create peace on their own, but they can help create space to remember where true peace comes from.
