I hope that you are starting to see a pattern in my posts. Simple crockpot recipes for those busy days!
Not only am I trying to give you the simplest recipes, but I am also trying to bring you recipes you can leave and forget. My goal is to simplify your life. Plus, going with today’s blog post on “Finding the Time”, what better way to help you than by giving you crockpot recipes?
A Family and Church Favorite
This recipe is a variation of the Mississippi Pot Roast. My husband makes the pot roast for our church potluck quite often. Everyone is always raving over it.
Recently, we visited some minister friends of ours, and they had prepared the chicken version. It was so yummy! I decided it was too good not to pass it on to you.
Why You’ll Love Crockpot Mississippi Chicken
You already know from the title that this was created in the crockpot. But did you know that you can prep this ahead of time and place it in your freezer?
Game changer!
After purchasing your chicken breast, simply coat the chicken in the Au jus and Ranch seasoning mix, seal in a freezer-safe Ziplock bag, and place in your freezer until you are ready to use. The day before you decide to make this dish, place the Ziplock bag in a bowl and let it thaw overnight in the refrigerator. The next morning, cut the bag open and dump it into the crockpot. Add your pepperoncini peppers and butter, cover, and cook on low for 6–8 hours.
Another great option… Make enough to freeze for a later date!
Just take it out to thaw the night before, cut open the bag, place it in a pot, cover, and allow it to warm over medium-low heat.
Enjoy Your Free Time
I hope you enjoy this version of Crockpot Mississippi Chicken as much as we do! It’s a lifesaver on busy days, freeing up your time for the things you love.
